The University Library of New Design University St. Pölten (NDU) was founded in 2004. It began as a reference library and has since evolved into an open-stack library with lending services. The NDU Library’s collection focuses primarily on graphic design, typography, architecture, interior design, and event management. Currently, the library holds approximately 9,000 subject-specific books, and a self-checkout terminal is available for independent borrowing.

University members may borrow all media, with the exception of journals and books from the faculty’s reference collections. However, these may be used on-site at the NDU Library.

Through faculty-controlled media acquisitions and its membership in the Austrian Library Network (OBVSG), the NDU Library strives to build a high-quality collection while maintaining steady growth. Various partnerships with regional libraries (such as the Lower Austrian State Library in St. Pölten) and regular exchanges with other universities enable innovative developments.
